Hi ho, dear readers, hope your weekend was all that you hoped for. Let's start the week with a tour of a thatched cottage which stands right on the edge of a forest. Rustic, with lots of wood, some French furniture, and plenty of flea market finds. Let's step in.
I love everything about this cottage! My design tastes have taken a dramatic turn as of late. I'm repeatedly drawn to spaces with a historic presence and a rustic-elegant design style. Thanks for sharing this great home with us, Kifus. Have a lovely day! ~ Wendi ~
I think this could easily be one of my favorite homes ever...and I follow over 100 blogs with regard to architecture and interior design. This is so lovely -- thank you SO much for sharing. Cynthia:)
This is by far my favorite cottage you have shown us. The exterior looks new but the inside looks like an older home. I loved the wood, stone and paver floors in the house. The family room, kitchen, bedrooms and bath are all charming and I loved her mix of old and new. Very nice. Karen
There is nothing more quaint than a thatched roof cottage - sooooo adorable. And decorated so tastefully - great job! I could easily spend a few days on vacation here and leave the crazy world behind! Thanks so much for sharing - enjoy your Monday - Jalon
Kifus, this cottage is beautiful with so many lovely details like the sculpture in the window, those armchairs next to the fireplace, the metal chairs in the outdoors and even the bottle of water, all beautifully romantic. Have a blessed day. Tereza
How amazing! I'm reading now one of Elizabeth George's detective-mystery novels, The Body of Death (inspector Lynley series). I love this writer! Anyway, in this particular volume one of her characters is a thatcher master, an opportunity for us, the readers, to learn a few thngs of this craft. Forgot to mention, for those who did not read George's novels, that the location is England. The author did her homework which she imparted with her readers. Very interesting, although I tend to wonder, like one of the characters in the novel: How about fire hazard? I love this cottage, its decoration and its overall cozy atmosphere. Thank you for sharing. Warm hugs, Doina
